A couple of weeks ago, Marian said let’s go for a walk. Usually, she goes to Sidecut Park, since it’s so close. But I suggested let’s try Oak Openings. It’s probably the oldest park in our Metroparks system. When we do some of our bike rides on the Wabash Cannonball Trail, you get to ride through it (if we ride long enough, that is. 😊).
I got online and picked what looked like a decent trail. It was called the Ferns and Lakes Trail. It’s about 3 miles long. It’s rated moderate because of some ups and downs, but the scenery and peacefulness were wonderful.
We look forward to exploring some more of the trails in Oak Openings, as well as the other great offerings we have with our Metroparks system. Enjoy the images below.
