A Lion of a Day

I have to share my wonderful day on Nov 4th.

In late October, my son-in-law, Dave, informed me that I was being treated to a Lions football game on Dec. 4th as a belated birthday present. Besides Dave, my son Mike and my 3 nephews, Nate, Jake, and Luke were all part of the plan.

We all met all Nate’s house around 9:00 on that day. Jake supplied the mode of transportation up north. We decided to take advantage of the free parking afforded by Nemo’s, which is a long-time Detroit sports bar hangout.

From L to R: Dave, Nate, me, Mike, Jake and Luke.

We hung out there until it was time to head to Ford Field. Since it’s not within decent walking distance, Nemo’s has always had a delivery and pickup bus service to the stadiums.

Ford Field, in my opinion, is a beautiful and very functional indoor venue. It had been a few years since my last visit, so we all had to take a few minutes to take in its majestic view. Here’s a link to a quick video I took. The lights across from us are the private suites.

The Lions were playing Jacksonville and provided a happy ending for me as they played their best game of the year.

I think we made it home around 6 and could not thank all of them enough for what they did. I love them all very much. Just a great day.
